Corrections & takedowns

Every RetailIntel signal links the article it came from. When we get something wrong, we fix it in the open; when content should not be here, we take it down.

Editorial standards

  • Every signal comes from one cited article, linked on the page. How a signal is made, and the checks it must pass, are on About.
  • Reporting and analysis are kept apart: forecasts and counter-cases are labelled as RetailIntel's analysis, not the source's reporting.
  • Old news is labelled as old. When a story first reported months ago resurfaces, the signal says so, and it is never sent as an alert.
  • North Pulse LLC, which operates RetailIntel, is accountable for these standards and acts on corrections. No person edits a signal before it is published.

Corrections

If a signal is wrong — a figure, a date, a name, who said what — use the correction form(it is also at the end of every signal). A corrected signal shows a later updated date; if a better copy of the same story replaces a signal, the old address forwards to it so links keep working. Every correction is logged, with its date and what changed, on the track record page.

Copyright and takedown requests

If you believe content on RetailIntel infringes your copyright, reveals private information, or is otherwise unlawful,email a takedown request with:

  1. the RetailIntel page address (URL) and exactly what on it you are objecting to;
  2. what right is affected — for copyright, the work you own, or a link to it;
  3. your name, email and, if you act for someone, who;
  4. a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, and that your notice is accurate;
  5. for copyright notices under the US DMCA, a statement under penalty of perjury that you are the owner or authorised to act, and your physical or electronic signature.

We acknowledge requests within 24 hours and act on valid ones within 15 days, or within 24 hours for content that exposes a person's private areas, shows them in sexual acts or impersonates them. If we remove content you published or asked for, we will tell you and you may respond. False or bad-faith notices may carry legal liability.

Legal orders

We comply with valid orders from courts and authorised government agencies, including removal within 36 hours where India's IT Rules require it, and keep a record of the orders we receive.
